Therapy for Adults and Couples

About Lisa

Lisa Romanova

I am a qualified and BACP- registered Psychotherapist and Counsellor with extensive experience in helping individuals and couples move beyond common relational hurdles — such as constant conflict, emotional infidelity, loss of intimacy and trust, and chronic communication breakdowns.

I utilise evidence-based strategies, including CBT, attachment theory and EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) principles, to guide clients toward sustainable, profound relational transformation.

My approach is not about quick fixes; it's about building a secure, resilient emotional foundation. I empower you to understand your relational patterns, restore trust, and cultivate a deeper emotional connection. If you are ready to stop navigating the complexity of your relationship alone and start building a loving, supportive partnership, let's connect.

How We Will Work Together

Identifying the inherited blueprint

We conduct a deep, compassionate exploration of your early attachment experiences and parental dynamics. This critical step allows us to clearly identify the maladaptive patterns and limiting core beliefs that originated in childhood and no longer serve your adult self.

Targeted Trauma and Emotional Processing

Utilising guided somatic and cognitive techniques, we safely process and release the lingering emotional energy, trauma responses, and pain held within your system. This methodical approach is essential for moving past feeling "stuck" and facilitating genuine emotional release.

Rewriting Your Authentic Narrative

We shift the focus from past wounds to future strength. By centering your inherent values, unique strengths, and authentic life experiences, we collaboratively re-rewrite your personal story, leading to self-compassion and acceptance—a process of truly learning to love yourself for you.

Strategic Boundary and Coping Skill Development

We move beyond surface-level advice to provide you with concrete tools for managing conflict, improving emotional regulation, and establishing healthy boundaries—whether that interaction is with a difficult partner or within yourself. You will gain the vital skills necessary to stop painful cycles and actively develop the secure, fulfilling, and supportive relationships you truly want.

Repairing Adult Attachment and Intimacy Issues

We actively bridge the gap between your childhood relational wounds and your current adult intimacy challenges. By understanding how early experiences shaped your attachment style (e.g., anxious, avoidant, disorganised), we create a pathway to heal relationship anxiety, navigate commitment fears, and cultivate deeper, more satisfying emotional and physical intimacy with your partner and others.

Thoughtful Exploration of Contact Decisions

For those contemplating significant change, we engage in a non-judgmental, comprehensive assessment of family contact levels. I provide the necessary space, clinical insights, and considerations to help you make a fully informed decision about whether to implement low-contact, modified-contact, or no-contact boundaries that genuinely prioritise your mental and emotional health.
